Major Project: Final Equipment List

Video.

Shooting in 4k gives me more opitions in the edit and it is therefore important to keep this as my camera of choice. The reason this gives me mroe options in the edit is if I need to zoom in on certain parts of the interview or any action. Besides from this it will look really nice and clean. Many shows shoot in 4K now and is a specification for Netflix. For example, House of Cards is only able to achieve this even, symetricla look below by shooting in 4k as they have the ability to crop and zoom in the edit without loosing noticeable picture quality. It isn't essential to shoot in 4k and due to the amount of time such footgae takes to render in the edit it may be woth shooting in 2.5k (something both the Blackmagic Production and URSA cameras have the ability to do.

Shooting

Camera:
Black Magic Production Cinema 4k

Lenses:
50mm Samyang  Prime Lens

Battery:
In House, charge whilst shooting

Why?
This camera will be amazing for this side shots and capturing additional action. This will work better on the DJI Gimbal as it is a smaller and more compact camera than the URSA.

Camera:
Black magic URSA Mini 4K Cinema

Lenses:
Samyang lens kit (c/w 14,24,35,50 and 85mm)
Canon 70-200mm zoom lens

Battery:
V-lock

Why?
This will be the main shot as it is the better camera of the two with its wider sensor to let mroe light in and produce the cinematic look, with a shallow depth of field which we are goign for with this documentary.

Lighting

Light:
Aperture three lighting kit with a softbox and stands.

Why?

Allows for a three point lighting setup. LED creates a colder light, but toungston would be too overpowering in this setup, especially when filming interior shots. If we were filming outside on a dark day, we would consider toungston lighting.

Light:
Rota Light with stand

Why?

The Rota goes a lot brighter and is easilt adjusted in temprature with its color Temperature: 3150 to 6300K.

Shoot Assistants

Manfrotto Tripods X2

Track and Dolly

DJI Gimbal

Sound
Boom and Rode Mic
Clip Mics
Tascam
Powerbank and spare batteries

Equipment Check List:

In order to ensure we have all our equipment and dont forget to take anything or leave anything behind I have created a check list of eqipment.
