Wireless Bluetooth Speakers

Wireless bluetooth speakers are great for students; it allows you to socially engage in much is as a group together wherever wether that be at home, while working or out and about. So overall, they are genuinely quite useful. Stupid though it sounds, I myself listen to music while in the shower, but find the volume on my phone isn't loud enough, plus the hazard that comes with using electrical equipment in the shower. Well luckily for the likes of me, you can actually get wireless waterproof speakers from various companies. However, this can come at some cost, which isn't ideal for students; especially as the bluetooth audio game is quite a recent revolution.

When looking at customer reviews, the general consensus was this is a great product for the price. The best critical review was two stars, which is pretty good going. I think this would definitely be a good product to test and review for our channel. 

LED Lights

Every bog standard uni room is plain, depressing and often lacks personality or character. Even once you've moved all your personal belongings in and added your own homely touches, it's ugly light strip bulbs give off the glow of a poorly decorated takeaway restaurant. Thats why lighting is so key to the atmosphere of your room. It feels more homely and also will allow you to work a lot better, as its an atmosphere you like. LED lights create this atmosphere, and you can set them to any colour or fade speed you like. Whilst being effective for atmosphere, and just generally looking cool they can also be used as strobe lights for those flat/house parties. They will be the talk of halls.

In association with the LED lights, why spend hundreds of pounds on a strobe, she youtube has clips lasting up to ten hours of mood lighting for those house parties.

Portably Battery Charger

Ever been in the middle of something important, or expecting an important phone call but your phone simply doesn't have enough juice? No? Well I have and it is beyond irritating, and I can only imagine I'm not the only one. With smartphones getting thinner and more powerful, their battery life will often suffer and one charge won't get you through the day. However, with portable batteries we can now charge our devices, including the new apple MacBook while on the go. Because there are so many on the market already, its difficult to know which one to get. Well our tech section will have several portable chargers and do a side by side comparison after testing each of them several times over.

Story Telling Unit-Camera Workshop 3: 180 degree rule

In today's workshop we were split up into groups and given a one page script and asked to film two characters discussing the 180 degree rule . The key to this task was understanding this rule and applying it. The script was a very basic duologue; the two characters come together, sit down across from each other and have a small conversation until one leaves at the end after understanding the 180degree rule. I chose to have my version with an entrance of one of the characters who is late for a meeting regarding this rule. The dialogue then starts as he begins to explain the 180 degree rule. Pre-Production: Professional Practice Interviews

During the summer, I was lucky enough to be asked to take part in a work experience programme being offered to by production company 'Bareska'. In this, myself and three others were given free rein of a professional client project. I was the Co-Producer/Director/editor. I agree to do this project as it was ad-hoc- so a project I was able to work around uni and work and was also a fantastic opportunity for me to practice for my third-year major project, even if I didn't end up doing a documentary. This was fantastic practice in pre-production, directing and just speaking with contributors about a secretive subject. The Symbolism Behind the Chair I wanted to make the chair the focal point t of this piece. News Production: DIY Tech

I am working in a group with Jack, Gavin and Simon and today we had a brainstorm after our unit briefing to find out what we could make a news channel on. We really liked one of the examples of the work of previous students who's target audience was students. We found this something that we could relate to ourselves so would be something we would be passionate about and take an interest in. Our first idea was to base it on university courses where students are made to pay for their own materials rather than the universities providing it. It was also about students taking courses in nursing and how there has been a significant drop in people choosing such courses as a result of the rise in uni fees and having their funds cut (previously the government would fund those degrees).
