Pre-Production: Parallax Effect Editing
After looking through various arcive photographs online of Eddie and his case, I have downloaded and selected a few of my most preferered photos that stood out to me the most so I could start animating them to test what arcive pictures I would use.
Once I’ve finished filling in the background, I exported each layer individually. I then opened up a new composition in After Effects and imported the individual layers and dragged them to the timeline. I then made all the layers 3D layers to ensure they in a 3D space ready to animate. I then added a camera movement for the 3D camera effect. The diagram allowed me to bring the imabge to life and felt more 3 Dimentional with a shallower backgorund depth of field.
I animated my photo using the 'puppet tool'. I pinned the important joints that would be used for articulation. I then selected an anchor point for the joints to move by keyframing the movemtn on the timeline. It would start as the normal image and then seven frames ahead the articulation will have moved completely. I wanted to make this a smoother proccess by 'easing in' and 'easing out'.
Following the two tutorials I found on YouTube, I was able to refresh my memory with the annimating process. I followed the steps and found it harder to create than what I thought I would have been. This was manly due to working ouit what movemments would work and what wouldnt work. Fot example, some of the movements were quite difficult.
The first stage was to import the image into photoshop before transferring it to after effects. Again, this supported my choice in ann imation software for the fina edit; everything works so fluidly and the software all intigrates with each aplication. In photoshop, the first step was to separate the image up into layers. This was done by using the magnetic lasso to draw around each part of image which woudl be seperated into layers in order to annimate.

I also wanted the background to move, so using the 3D Camera I enlarged it gradually. Below is the final animated archive photo:
