Where is my money? - The Wrong Mans: Episode 2

This scene will be filmed at night, where we will be using three LED Lighting sets to create this cold and dark atmosphere. Our location for this will be The Maidstone Studios Car Park.

As director I took Jim Fields concept of good lighting but wanted to play around with this batman look. Lighting can be very telling of a scene and I would really like to show color, something to Jims intentions has lacked. He wanted everything to be grey in color which was to show that the two characters are boring office workers. However, I want to bring something different to this to show whats happening is genuinely exciting and take them away from this ‘mundane look’.

As research I came across this video by cinicom.net who show various lighting hacks:

The Hacker

Two Colours

Something not used in the show but very stylistic to it.

Lighting will be key to this scene. The scene will open to darkness and the two characters dialogue will begin with the sounds playing on the outside. I wanted to experiment with lighting a bit more in this scene, but after testing the different light sources on a test shoot we found it didn't come out as accurately as planned. The red and blue lighting would be inconsistent to the rest of the shoot and would be difficult to recreate with every shot for continuity. Also, the scene would need to have a natural light source in order for it to make complete sense but there would be nowhere that the colours red and blue would naturally come from.

The shots are designed to be POV (Point of View) where Sam and Phillip are blindfolded. This was inspired by the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 16 where Daryl wares one. This was used throughout most of the episode, which came across as very effective and I feel for our own piece its something we could incorporate. It may even add to the humour of the piece.

An effect I really wanted to play with for the opening scene is this mirror one to the left.

This scene is fairly straight forward, the camera angle is just a point of view from the mirror as though its a reflection and he’s cleaning his teeth into the camera. However, for this I wanted to try out a different style to give the illusion of opening a mirror bathroom cabinet.

Scene 2-We're not opening a surf shack - The Wrong Mans: Episode 4

This scene is designed to be humorous and in order to bring humour into it we need to ensure we have all the right props and costumes with clever camera work to imply comedy so its not just visible through dialogue.
