Pre-Production: Social Media Promotion
Television series or documentaries don't typically have websites about them, this is something done more with films. However, I felt it was important to include it on our companies website briefly but have links to social media.

Overall I am satisfied with this page and will consistently update it as the film progresses. It is a page which will be used a lot when the film is complete also to keep reminding people to tune in. It resembles the branding of Netflix clearly and the way it shows on peoples feeds will hopefully grab their attention.
Even the post branding on the page contains comment "Everyone has the right to a fair trial, but just how fair is Britain's judicial system?" to really grab people attention and get them questioning themselves and wanting to watch this documentary to educate themselves.

I decided to create a brief facebook page and a twitter page. These are two major platforms; I don't want to include an Instagram promotional page, as ideally, I would like to include advertising through Instagram pop-up ads which would appeal on peoples feeds. With encryption, what people like and the search will relate to the adverts that come up on their feeds, so people who are interested in Netflix, documentaries or crime and justice, this should come up as an advert. "77% agree with the statement "I wish there were a way to ad-filter instead of ad-block completely."(VIEO Design, 2018)
It is so easy and useful with today's social media and technology to get your content out there.
On the Making a Murderer social media promotion they set up a facebook page and included the trailer here. This is a prime example of Netflix promotion for specific shows and after seeing pages like this I felt inspired. They don't put a tag on their videos, they simply make a comment on the post of relevance i.e. "You only thought you knew the truth." and then goes onto say it is now streaming which really gets people in the mood. Hashtags are used typically on platforms like Instagram and Twitter to bring in a larger audience.

Twitter is a great way to promote on Social Media, and the use of hashtags will hopefully help the documentary reach a wider platform. We can tweet to update people on the project and when it will be released.
