Pre-Production: Scheduling
Why is scheduling important?
"One of the most important aspects of planning and scheduling is to develop baseline standards of productivity and success. Without setting a specific plan in place with a specific desired outcome defined by a completion date, you won't know if you are meeting goals."(https://smallbusiness.chron.com/importance-planning-scheduling-5131.html)
Goal setting is therefore key to this project and that doesn't just mean with the idea but it can apply to the dates of getting things done. Below I have drawn up a schedule, which was inspired by my work experience with production company 'Bareska' where I was director/producer/editor for a professional project. (see blog on Project Walk to Talk). For this project myself and Jack star down and between us we drew up a plan of roughly when we wanted everything completed by.
The schedule including all the pre-Production aspects including the draft script, storyboard and narrative development etc.The Production process like filming and then the post production process. Planning a schedule as a part of pre-production could be invaluable to ensuring we stay on track and meet our goals. Since our idea has changed developed so much, its been really difficult staying on track with this schedule. However, now we are set on idea we are able to run with it and will hopefully catch up.
"Timing, resource management and cash flow are important aspects of special projects. For example, you may want to implement a new diversity training program for your team to improve company morale." Whilst we have discussed a budget for this project, we are still trying to narrow it down and that is something that we can only find out when our contributors our finalised. Whilst its not good practice to go over budget, we have set a small buffer just in case as you always need to allow for if anything goes wrong.
By implementing such daily habits it will hopefully make me an my workflow u more effective in every way.
