Pre-Production:Branding/Promotion- Website Ideas

Something that really got my attention for planning the branding of this documentary was the Hunted promotion. I really enjoyed the realism behind it and is something that got me thinking about the branding for this documentary. But how could I bring this into a website as well? Website are very common ways now to promote new films and television shows, especially for Netflix (my targeted channel). This got me thinking back to the promotional website I saw for 'Gone Girl'. In this it made it look like and actual campaign or news website publicising the fact Amy has gone missing. Whilst I've never seen the film, its advertising campaign is something that really grabbed my attention and made me believe it was a real story.

It announced that someone had gone missing. This website also has links from all of the trailers which as a marketing strategy meant viewers could understand without having seen any of the trailers. It has all the latest film information and allows you to sign up for up to date news details on the film. In the top right corner, there are links to facebook, twitter etc. in order to interact with the audience. For many of the main images they used the parallax effect 2.5D which is a moving still image. This is something I have practice previously with my commission project last year where I made a promotional video for the maidstone television studios. I therefore feel this would be doable, especially when we are shooting Liam at the conference next week, it would make great promotion for the website.
