Pre-Production: Exploring Temple Chambers Location
Today myself and Jack went to meet up with Jerry Hayes and to exlore the Temple Chambers to see what it was like to film in. It had a fantastic atmopsphere and was a clearly professional environment which would reflect his postion in the documentary; a professional opinion will make it. We want to have Jerry as our barrister expert; he is knowlegable in law and politics after being MP for the concervative party and now a barrister. With his expertese and knowlege we have learned he will be a credible source in the documentary. However, it would be also good to get a younger barrister perspecive too, maybe someone who is new to the job?
Jerry discussed with us his professional opinion on the topic and we have realsied he was a great choice. We were slig.tyl comcerned this would be a platform for just Liam but after speaking to Jerry we have found he has covered multiple high profile trials and in more than one case, vital evidence has been found at the last minute. This could be an interesting perspecive as he was so knowlegable and was able to educate me and Jack on the topic as well.
Inside the chambers it was a lovely setting and defiitley gave us a nice feel for the location and what to expect for filming. A problem we had was how dark it was inside, so when filming we will defintiely mneed to have some artificial ligthing just to ensure it is well lit and not too orange-looking. It was on the small side and we were worried about a three camera set-up here. We looked around and Jerry took us to their library which seems to be perfect. Whilst not specifically Jerrys place of work, the library was larger and faily well lit.
I can see this location looking really nice and fitting the professional, legal character to our documentary; this locaiton will hopefully be able to tell that part of the story visually. Locations are very important in telling the story, whe we see an environment and interview is placed, we know roughly what their place in the documentary is.
