Transitions: Website Designing

For this unit one of the submission requirements was to create a website where our final cut and key development research and journey is showcased. Wanting our website to represent the TV show The Wrong Mans and the final cut as closely as possible I have created a website on Wix.com that I believe relates and represents the TV show as much as possible. Instead of signing up to my own Wix account Jack already had an account with Wix.com, so using Jacks account which he sent me the details over I started to created our website. But before designing the layout I  wanted to research into The Wrong Mans and the key graphical elements they use so I can get a better understanding on how I can make our website represent the show as much as possible, for example a key element I noticed in both the show and posters is the colour grey. The colour grey is used through the TV show and promotional advertisement such as their poster as this represents that both Phil and Sam have dull boring jobs (office workers) but within this grey tone there is a lot of action such as explosions which is also seen in both the show and their posters. This shows that even though they have  boring jobs and boring uninteresting life before the events that happened in the show, their life has changed from boring office workers to two uninteresting people now facing danger. To incorporate the research I have found I decided to have the background of the website grey to represent the dullness of their jobs, but I found that having the title of the show at the top and just a grey background was to plain and didn't represent the show in the way I was trying to so I decided to add a transparent graphic of a fire explosion at the bottom of the page. By having both a grey background and a fire graphic the website now looks like it is representing and relates to the show.

Key elements:

Home Page- For the home page of our website I wanted to keep it simple with not to much information, so I decided that the home page was where I put the final cut video with information about the show. I also added a slide show that has both posters that I have created.

Development research and progress- As a requirement for this unit was to submit a website that has both our final cut and our development, I have created pages and subpages that feature a blog format where we have put relatable posts from our individual blog in the correct page and heading, so the website is easy to understand and navigate.
