Major Project: Shot List Update

A lot has changed since the pre-production unit in terms of the filming. Since we have decided to not have Liam as a narrator to walk us through the documentary, we decided to have just interviews carry the documentary. As a result of this, the shot list has now changed and I wanted to have a rough plan with me on locations in case I get stuck or forget any nice shot ideas whilst shooting. The reason for this is that it is good practice to do so.

Pre Production: Editing the Trailer

Editng trailer wasa difficult process with such limited video footage. However, having researched different Netflixtrailers, I found I genuinelely liked their style. One crucial part of this, however, is having the footage to produce this and this is something I would like to improve, so I am treating this as a trailer tester to see if the style works for our documentary and how I want it to look.  So far I have only been able to use footage from 'The Innovation of Justice' Shoot and also archive photos and videos. As Live Production: Del Workshop 2

In todays Workshop we were getting to grips with the camera setup in the studio, which was a good refresher on the Sony Ex cameras we will be using (recently I've been using the Panasonics so am now better trained on them). We practiced track, jib, handheld and tripod shots. After this session I had refreshed my memory and knew what I was doing. It was good to start a fresh like this given I will be camera man in the studio production. There are plenty of good ways to test and practice with a camera, and practicing i the studio that we would be producing our show in was ideal.   "Set up a little still life in typical living room light, and (presuming your camera supports it), try it in various automatic and manual modes, changing settings like white balance, exposure compensation, ISO sensitivity setting, and so on."
