Major Project: Micro Moments Marketing

In order to promote and engage itneres tin this docuemntary I have edited some micro-moments to put on social media. This was somethign planned for the documentaries origional brief I drew up for the pre-production unit. "Micro-moments occur when people reflexively turn to a device – increasingly a smartphone – to act on a need to learn something, do something, discover something, watch something, or buy something."

Pre-Production Project Brief:

Below are all the mircro moments condensed into one video:

These videos will be uploaded onto our facebook and instagram pages. "The philosophy behind micro-moment marketing is that in the world today, consumers are bombarded by content, ads, offers, emails, texts, tweets, push notifications and everything else imaginable. " (Inc.com, 2019). This means that social media has a massive marketing impact; if people see video content on their timeline, they view it and if it grabs their interest. When uploading to instagram I would export to a different scale in order to fit the market and the applications style of content. "Consumers already spend an average of 4.7 hours each day on their smartphones, thus the way brands and marketers think about capturing the attention of consumers needs to change. That's where the tactical side of micro-moment marketing comes in" (Inc.com, 2019)

When testing ideas for the micro moments I did also try the idea of emphasising certain words/pieces of dialogue to grab attention on social media.

I also included subtitles in order to reach a wide audience. This will be something configured for the final documentary as an option for viewers who have trouble hearing. However, the choice in including subtitles for the micro moments is because from what I have seen and researched, micro moments will usually include subtitles so people can view anywhere. Social media is so accessible on most devices and is therefore portable and used in public. A lot of the time people may not have headphones with them so cant view the video but with subtitles it means they can view without audio. Also, by default instagram has videos muted until you tap. With our lives today being so busy and audiences needing to have immediate attention, if they can't hear straight away they will simply just scroll past it.
